ThunderHawk's Versailles
Full litter sister to ThunderHawk's Vellikhan, Versailles is a low-ADR, high problem-solving sweetheart. Her antics are legend at ThunderHawk -- once I looked out to see Versailles standing on the roof of our two-story barn! --It was deep winter and the snow-pack on the roof had slid off, providing Versailles with a lovely ramp to the roof of the barn! Look below to find a few photos captured as Versailles was being called down from the roof! Versailles' first litter will be this fall, by Medveolo Osso, via frozen semen. "Bear" is a foundation sire at ThunderHawk -- a late great and full litter brother to Gurkha, "Medveolo Szelim".
ThunderHawk's Royal Spice, "Jade"
Sired by Vellikhan out of Chakotey (see above), Jade is proof that experience and knowledge can produce synergistic results: she and the rest of her litter are considered to be one of the best produced by ThunderHawk to date. High in Trainability and medium-high ADR, Jade is known for her remarkable ability to distinguish real threats from non-threats -- in today's society where breed bans are considered a viable alternative to responsible ownership, such traits are mandatory. ThunderHawk selects for these traits, choosing working abilities over show wins to determine a given dog's contribution to its breed. With a lovely head, bone, and conformation, Jade is a true "red", a color often obtained in mixed-breed Caucasians but difficult to find in purebreds (most of what is seen is red-sable). Jade is co-owned by ThunderHawk and continues to blossom in the care of Katie Parry and her partner Paul Martin, kennel name ThunderHawk... the Legend Continues.
CH. Medveolo Szelim, "Gurkha"
One of our foundation sires imported from Hungary, Gurkha epitomizes everything the breed is known for: majesty, intelligence, nerve, trainability, loyalty, ability to distinguish between a non-threat and a real threat, and legendary ferocity when protecting.
Chakotey is my "Forever Dog" and a foundation dam at ThunderHawk. Out of ThunderHawk's Macumba by Medveolo Osso, Chakotey's flawless gait and perfect four-square "natural stack" demonstrate that everything "inside" is put together right. Correct angulation, balance, and form are required in order to preserve the ancient aboriginal type and working abilities of the breed. Chakotey also has superior hip conformation. Due to a puppyhood accident, Chakotey was blinded in her left eye so her eye appears opaque in some of the photos. Her color is red sable with a black mask, and she has a medium length coat.
ThunderHawk's Vellikhan
Vellikahn is a medium-ADR, high-Sociability sire that has a gorgeous head. He has sired only two litters to date at ThunderHawk, but has produced some of the best dogs that have come from our lines, including ThunderHawk's Royal Spice ("Jade"), ThunderHawk's Royal Guard ("Janga"), and Thunderhawk's Royal Song ("Sugar Bear", owned by Kerry Vinson).
Barristan The Bold
We are so very excited to welcome this gorgeous proven sire to ThunderHawk: registered name Hashim, known now as Barristan. At 180lbs, Barristan is as big as we like to breed here at ThunderHawk, lest we compromise soundness and agility; his movement is flawless and his temperament medium-ADR and Medium-low Sociability. His stunning head is over 12 inches across and he has a medium-long coat. NEWSFLASH!!!! Barristan's genetic testing results are IN!! He is OFA Cardiac-Clear, is CERF-Certified on his eyes, and has the second BEST Penn-HIP Score in the history of the breed, being beat out only by our own lovely late-great, "Kira".
