Just spent a lot of time reading your very informative page. You have done a wonderful job giving the pros and cons to this magnificent breed. This was my first introduction to the breed and I am absolutely fascinated even though this is not the dog for me I sure hope one day to meet one. Thank You for doing such a great job!

I am a breeder and rescuer, seeing many irresponsible breeders, and owners of I'll intent is not only makes my job very hard, but at times almost impossible
If an individual may not control his pet they shouldn't even have any at all.
I have been a breeder for 16 years now, and the only one in Utah
All of my dogs are indoor dogs
All of them get there twice daily walks
Having for seamstresses at home helped devise custom tailored harnesses that the dogs absolutely love
After all they are the ones sporting them
Bottom line:
This beautiful breed is not for everyone
They are strong, loving, and kind
But may take out a threat in just a snap of the finger!

We are experienced Ovcharka Dog owners. We’ve had 6 Adult Ovcharka Rescues at once, for the past 15 years. Our last living Ovcharka is 15 years old and she is in the processes of crossing over. We are looking to adopt several Ovcharkas once she is gone some time this summer.
• We rescued her through Brave Caucasians in Montana, 2 yr old female adult.
• We rescued a large male from ‘Angie’ of Little Bear Caucasians, 8 month old male puppy.
• Yagoda was a rescue from a private party in Seattle Washington, 4 year old female adult. She was imported from the Ukraine by Little Bear Caucasians. She ended up in Seattle paper as a ‘farm dog.’ The people who got her could not keep her as she would chase cars and the neighbors were afraid of her. They contacted Angie of Little Bear Caucasians. Angie contacted us. The rest is history.
• Willie was another private party rescue from Washington State, 4 year old male adult.
• Ursula and Zoya were sisters. Zoya crossed over last year.
Ursula is the last of our 6 Ovcharkas we have. She is 15 years old and in doggie hospice care with us.

It is impossible to find your email on this website friend. I'm very serious about adopting, I have the application filled out, but I can't find your email anywhere. I recommend putting it all over the place or having a "contact us" page. Very frustrating. Anyways, please contact me at my email above or comment with yours. I would love to adopt from you. Cheers

Hello Tamara. Can’t find an email or other contact for you so I hope this works. I’m a trainer and behaviourist in the UK. A lady has contacted me about assessing her Caucasian as a therapy dig to visit Care Homes and elderly patients. Her dog is make and now 10 months. Need advice as to the dog’s suitability for such a job and how would so temperament test this dog ?

I'm not anxious to respond here, b/c so many people will judge me. We know what we are doing with dogs, and have had some of the best dogs you can ask for. However, I am looking for someone to take our CS. He has bonded to us instead of our animals. He loves his steers, but he is not good with small animals. He wants to be with us and is very sweet and loyal. however, we have to keep him in the pasture during the day, so that our smaller critters can run around. He loves attention, and he's VERY smart. Very beautiful. Parents both have papers, but they have not been filed on him. He is around 18 m old. Please help me find a home or rescue, so that he does not get into serious trouble and have to be put down.

We would love to give your CS dog a good, loving home.
We feed all our dogs a raw food diet.
They work guarding during the day. At night, they come in to sleep in the house.
We do not leave our dogs in bad weather, we bring them in to the house.

Currently we have 2 male red healers we rescued by re-homing with us.
The 2 healers belonged to my sister in California. 1 is a puppy and the other came at 1 year old.
Both were messed up from livinig in the city. It's been almost 3 months since they got here and they are
starting to act like 'real' dogs. When they got here, they thought they were people, but now they know they are working dogs and they are happy about that.
All the dogs love going to the barn every morning and evening to get milk.
We take all dogs on walks with us on our property, through our fields and ravine.
We rescued Wilma from 'RescueMe.org.' Wilma is a Pyrenees and Anatolian mix.
We rescued Shikigami from an animal hoarding situation in town.
Shiki is a Belgium Mali X with German Shepard.
We have sheep and goats to protect from bears, cougars, coyotes. We live in the Okanogan Highlands of Washington state.

If you can get your CS to us, we are happy to give CS a good, loving, happy home. We use working dogs and give them jobs to do, which they love.
